Psalm 78:5-8
For He established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which He commanded the fathers, that they should make them known to their children; that the generation to come might know them, the children who would be born, that they may arise and declare them to their children, that they may set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep His commandments; And may not be like their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation that did not set it's heart aright, and whose spirit was not faithful to God.

May 5th, 2009 by | 0

A couple of weeks ago one of the children breathlessly ran into the tent saying I HAD to come and see!!  Now!!!!  This is what was so very exciting:

The Fascination of Li’l Boys and Frogs
Just don’t look at his Li’l Boy dirty fingernails.  Focus on the frog : )  Just yesterday I complimented him on his clean fingernails at church.  That may have been a first.  I make no guarantee as to the cleanliness of his toenails.  None whatsoever!  This is the one [...]

Apr 29th, 2009 by | 3

I’m rather late in saying a virtual Happy Birthday to Ryker.  It was a crazy week, the week of his birthday.  But better late than never : )
Ryker turned 17 years old.  My how time flies!  Since moving to Texas, Ryker has turned into a man, and a Texan man at that!
During his birthday dinner, [...]

Morning Milking

Apr 27th, 2009 by | 1

We’ve been coming to an understanding with Phebie, our Jersey cow.  We feed her.  She provides us with milk.  It’s really very simple.  We’ve had to come to this understanding because she’s decided that her milk is for her little piggy of a bull calf and not for us.  Especially since we started separating the [...]

Apr 24th, 2009 by | 0

I had a hard time getting my fuzzy brain to work correctly on our Saturday morning workday.   I was overwhelmed with fixing our goat issue (read here and here).   Plus we had several families coming over for a workday at our property to help us get some things in order for which we needed [...]

Lawless Alliances

Apr 21st, 2009 by | 0

Our President is rewriting history when he says that “We are not a Christian Nation.”
He bows down to other nations signifying subjection to them.
He tears down our country on his worldwide tour.
He speaks of and works towards a one world order, or “Lawless Alliances.”
He speaks from both sides of his mouth depending upon whom his [...]

The Texas Flag and Tower During the Day

And Magnificence of Night

The Alamo

Mr. Phillips gave a rousing, inspiring speech to the crowd of 15,000+ at the Alamo and Hemisfair Park.   The Alamo was such a perfect setting for this significant speech.  He skillfully wove the manliness, beliefs and sacrifice of the men of the Alamo into [...]

The Alamo TEA Party

Apr 16th, 2009 by | 2

Rick and the 4 older children went to the San Antonio Alamo TEA Party yesterday.  I guess because of that, we’re now profiled as terrorists by our government.
It’s hard to know how one little ol’ family can effect a change or make our voice heard.  This was one thing we could do.  Our 5 were [...]

Do We Have the Worldview of a Christian Nation?

Apr 13th, 2009 by | 0

“President” Obama said, “We are not a Christian Nation.”

In his Stoplight commentary, Stuart Shepard examines the impact of holding such a worldview:

Thank you, Mr. Shepherd for clarifying this for us.
We all have a worldview.  And the worldview we hold and live by is seen by our choices, our beliefs, our doctrine and how we live.  [...]

If It Ain’t One Thing…..

Apr 13th, 2009 by | 0

It’s another……….
On Wednesday I found out that I’m anemic (a normal consequence of Fifth Disease).  I presented my case to my doctor that what I have is Fifth Disease and not Rheumatic Fever.  He said Fifth Disease is a possible diagnosis but he’s not going to say that it IS Fifth Disease, even though others [...]

The Diagnosis Is:

Apr 7th, 2009 by | 2

……………….Fifth Disease: Erythema Infectiosum………………….
I don’t know why the medical community of old named the various rashes of childhood by numbers, but here they are:
• First Disease:              Measles
• Second Disease:         Scarlet Fever
• Third Disease:             Rubella (German measles)
• Fourth Disease:          Duke’s Disease
• Fifth Disease:         Erythema Infectiosum
• Sixth Disease:              Roseola
There is no seventh, eighth, etc., disease.
There are two [...]

Thursday night I received a phone call from a friend at church.  She gave me a couple of names of diseases to look up and research.  I was lying down at the time so when I got up while later I went to the computer to do my research.  I decided to check the online [...]

The Rash Plot Thickens

Apr 5th, 2009 by | 0

I came home from that doctor’s appointment and did some more research on my symptoms and two possible diagnosises that the doctor had written down:  Rheumatic Fever (post-strep) and Lymes Disease.   I also posted my symptoms on an online group of homeschool moms and asked if any of them might have any ideas or information [...]

Name That Rash

Apr 4th, 2009 by | 2

This week has been quite a week.
Monday Ryker got his braces off (picture coming soon) and started a patio ceiling tear out job in the afternoon while a couple of others worked at the warehouse for the day.
Tuesday morning I awoke to my left shoulder aching and my left hand feeling odd.  I figured I’d [...]

What will you say when that certain young man sits down in your living room, sweaty-palmed and tongue-tied, and asks permission to marry your daughter? What criteria should he meet before the two [...]
