The Truth About Marriage
What is marriage? Why do we have the institution of marriage? Who sanctions marriage? Do we have free choice regarding the definition and practice of marriage? Way too much to cover in one post!
God is the Creator. God is the Designer. God is the Law Maker. God is worthy to be worshiped, honored and obeyed. His ways are righteous and should be our ways.
Sola Scriptura. Scripture Alone. Scripture is where we get our definitions, our doctrine and our practice in life. Scripture Alone. Sola Scriptura.
Psalm 19:7-10
The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul;
The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart:
The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.
The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever:
The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.
More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold:
Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
IF we acknowledge God as the Creator of the Universe Who is worthy to be worshiped, honored and obeyed, and IF we love His Law, then we will seek to know, understand, love and live by His Law.
This is the Scriptural account of the very first marriage designed, planned and instituted by God:
Genesis 2:18-24
“And the Lord God said, ‘It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.’
And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beasts of the field and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field;
But for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
And Adam said, ‘This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.’
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.”
Genesis 1:27
So God created man in His Own image, the image of God created He him:
Male and female, he created them.
Marriage as defined by the Creator of Marriage, Himself
It is not good for man to be alone.
God created a help meet suitable for man.
1 male (man) ~ made from the dust of the ground as dominion keeper of God’s Creation
1 female (woman) ~ made from a man’s rib to stand by a man’s side as a man’s help meet
This is GOD’s design for marriage. Thus, it is the only true definition and practice of marriage.
IF we do NOT acknowledge God as the Creator of the Universe who is worthy to be worshipped, honored and obeyed, and IF we do NOT love His Law, then we will NOT seek to know, understand, love and live by His Law.
We, instead, will look to our own reason and abhorrent, deviant ways. We will consider our own desires to be as God and to be followed. We will consider ourselves as worthy to be worshiped and live by our own unrighteous law.
We will trade in that which is righteous and good, God’s ways, for that which is unrighteous and hellish, our ways. We will worship the created rather than the Creator.
As of today, June 16, 2008, this is the State of California’s “lawful” account of marriage:
Marriage as defined by the State of California
Marriage once was limited to male & female monogamous couples ~ by both God & the State.
In the State’s wisdom, they have now decreed that God’s ways are no longer their ways ~ marriage is now tolerant and inclusive and thus includes:
Adam & Eve,
Adam and Steve
&
Adamette and Eve
This is how sinful man perverts God’s beautiful institution of marriage, the picture of the relationship of Christ and His Church, into an abominable institution of dishonourable, unholy blasphemy.
Romans 1:21-32
Because that, when they knew God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
For this cause, God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
And likewise also, the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet.
And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affections, implacable, unmerciful:
Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
WOE TO THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA AND OUR NATION!
To The State of California: You have placed yourself above God’s Law! You have decreed that you are not under God’s authority but instead that YOU are the ultimate authority! You have transgressed God’s ways, God’s laws and God’s righteousness. You have exchanged the truth of God for a lie!
We call to the State of California to REPENT of your prideful, arrogant, deviant sin! You WILL be held accountable before God’s Judgment Seat. Your laws must be His laws! Your laws must be His standards! You do NOT have the freedom to enact a law that violates the Law of God!!! It is your job to UPHOLD the Law of God!
WOE TO THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA! And Woe to our Nation if we stand by and passively let this go unnoticed and unchallenged.
Jeremiah 18:5-12
5 Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
6 O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.
7 At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it;
8 If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.
9 And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it;
10 If it do evil in my sight, that it obey not my voice, then I will repent of the good, wherewith I said I would benefit them.
11 Now therefore go to, speak to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I frame evil against you, and devise a device against you: return ye now every one from his evil way, and make your ways and your doings good.
12 And they said, There is no hope: but we will walk after our own devices, and we will every one do the imagination of his evil heart.
Remember the infamous Sodom and Gomorrah? They were guilty of the same, vile, evil sin and given over to depraved minds because of it. Remember their demise?
The State of California and our Nation are in grave danger. We need to repent of our evil thoughts, deeds and ways. We must return to the Lord on His terms, not ours.
2 Chronicles 7: 14-15
14 If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
15 Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.
It is way past time for the People of God to return to Sola Scriptura, humbles themselves, pray, seek God’s face and turn from their wicked ways!
This is not just a State of California sin. This is also the sin of the Churches of the United States for their complacency, their disregard for God’s entire Word, their syncretism into society, their lack of saltiness, their lukewarmness, their seeker-driven ways instead of their God/Scripture-driven ways.
We MUST return to the Word of God. We must return to worshiping God as HE says we are to worship Him. We MUST return to both a love and a fear of His Word, His ways and His righteousness. And we MUST hold our elected officials accountable for the heinous direction they are taking our Nation, our families, our children, our heritage and our future.
Acts 28:26-27
Go unto this people and say, ‘Hearing ye shall hear and shall not understand;
and seeing ye shall see and not perceive:
For the heart of this people is waxed gross and their ears are dull of hearing,
and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart and should be converted and I should heal them.
We must see with our eyes and hear with our ears and understand with our heart God’s Word in order to be converted and healed.
Lord, may you open our eyes, open our ears and give us understanding with our heart that we might hear, see and understand Your Word, Your ways and Your Law so that we might be converted and healed, reconciled to You through your Son, Jesus Christ. Only then will we truly abhor evil and love Your righteousness and live in the light of Your Word.
